Reconocimiento UNAM
L a Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, a través de la Facultad de Contaduría y Administración, celebra la entrega del reconocimiento al Máximo Mérito como Egresado al C.P. Alfredo Harp Helú y al L.A.E. Isaac Chertorivski Shkoorman, por su gran trascendencia en el ejercicio de su profesión y como una muestra de agradecimiento por enaltecer siempre el nombre de la Facultad y la UNAM.
Al entrevistar a don Alfredo Harp Helú sobre este reconocimiento, que fue entregado el 13 de junio de 2019, afirmó: “Me alegra compartir esta distinción con Isaac Chertorivski, que desempeñó un papel magnífico como presidente ejecutivo de Bacardí para América Latina y es un experto en estrategias del mundo de la mercadotecnia y la publicidad. Fue un extraordinario presidente de Fundación UNAM.” Don Alfredo recuerda que cuando tenía 16 años, en 1961, ingresó a la entonces Escuela de Comercio y Administración, ahora Facultad de Contaduría y Administración. “Por doscientos pesos al año (ahora veinte centavos), tuve la oportunidad de cursar mi carrera de contador público en la UNAM con los mejores maestros”. En la UNAM recibió una preparación que le permitió comenzar a ejercer sus conocimientos en sus primeros trabajos: en una fábrica de hilos y después el Despacho Price Waterhouse, donde profundizó sus conocimientos de auditoría e impuestos. La licenciatura le dio las bases sólidas para ingresar al mundo de los negocios financieros y, gracias a un esfuerzo disciplinado, logró ser agente de bolsa.
Harp Helú destaca que en 1971, “el trabajo conjunto con mi socio Roberto Hernández nos llevó a crear la casa de bolsa Acciones y Valores de México, que se volvió la más importante de nuestro país. Después adquirimos el Banco Nacional de México (Banamex) en 1991 y formamos el grupo financiero Banamex Accival, que en ese entonces era el más sólido del país”. A través de su Fundación, participa activamente en la Fundación UNAM desde su creación y ha otorgado más de 66 mil becas en el nivel licenciatura. Además apoya programas de educación a distancia, brigadas de salud, actividades culturales, ecológicas y deportivas, dotación de infraestructura, programas productivos, rescate de fondos documentales y bibliográficos, ayuda en desastres naturales y medio ambiente. En más de 25 años de colaboración, ha destinado más de 600 millones de pesos a la UNAM, porque está convencido de que hay que brindar más oportunidades a los jóvenes mexicanos, apoyar a la investigación y sobre todo fortalecer la educación.
Don Alfredo está orgulloso de recibir este reconocimiento, porque las siglas de la UNAM están grabadas en su vida y siempre ha admirado a esta institución como un semillero de esperanzas para México.
